WHO ARE THE STUDENTS FOR FUTURE (SFF) HANNOVER?
Students for Future Hannover, a student organisation within the Fridays for Future movement, was founded in the spring of 2019. Students of Leibniz Universität Hannover and of all other Hannover universities drew up a list of demands and handed it over to the President of the Leibniz Universität. They are calling on Leibniz Universität Hannover to become climate neutral by 2030 and to reduce net CO2 emissions to zero by 2030.
WHAT ARE THE SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES OF THE SFF HANNOVER STUDENT ORGANISATION?
Students For Future Hannover have drawn up a list of demands with clearly defined requirements for teaching, research, transport, energy and buildings. Since its foundation, Students for Future Hannover have been in constant exchange with actors from various departments and institutions and are actively supporting the implementation of their demands. Students for Future call for more climate education at schools and universities and organise Public Climate Schools. In addition, Students for Future organise demonstrations and protest actions with specific targets and initiate a broad public discourse with the help of information stands, workshops and discussion rounds.
WHAT ACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES IS THE SFF HANNOVER GROUP CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN?
As a sustainability movement, Students for Future Hannover have a broad agenda of many different issues, which are addressed by dedicated working groups.
